PROVIDENCE — Patrick Kennedy’s mental-health awareness and advocacy group The Kennedy Forum is one of eight leading organizations that on Monday announced the launch of a national campaign intended to “elevate mental health and addiction in policy conversations during the upcoming election season,” according to the organizations.
The campaign, “Mental Health for US,” Kennedy told The Journal, is aimed at candidates and forums as the general-election year of 2020 approaches and presidential hopefuls already are reaching out to voters.
“For far too long, those with mental-health and addiction challenges have been pushed to the side and treated as second-class citizens,” Kennedy said.
